Both pubs and dems gearing up to do hit jobs on Manchin. Fine, whatever, it's what they have to do.

Not sure how well it will work in this environment though- given Trump's and Bidens "histories." The theory I suppose is: "We will expose business and personal dirt on Manchin so that voters will go over to Trump or Biden to get away from that type of thing. Not sure that dog is going to hunt. Especially since Manchin would get to fight back and up the game of pointing out dirt on Trump and Biden.

Let the games begin.

Now with that said in the past couple of months Biden has lost his GE polling advantage over Trump. What is obvious is that young voters have steered away from Biden in this time. What is it? Maybe student loan forgiveness disappointment and Israeli support - maybe something more.

Curious in all of this is Biden has flipped the script on the 65+ crowd and is actually in the black with this cohort. Could this be he is trusted with social security and medicare or that generally speaking boomers are rocking economically. Overturning Roe may also be a bridge too far. Again, I don’t know.

The economy is another interesting point because the vast majority of Americans polled say they are doing well but the overall economy isn’t. If it’s anxiety then that could subside. The real test here is if people are “cutting back” on the essentials of life though. Skipping lunch, behind on utility bills that sort of stuff.

There’s a lot going on inside of the polling right now. I wouldn’t call it sticky yet though.

Jeezuz, I don't know about the bit about "the vast majority of Americans polled" in regard to the economy. You can probably shop around and find some polls that are worded and parsed in a way that makes your point. But there certainly are more that seem to counter it. In addition there is the old "right direction/wrong direction" poll that is ugly for Biden. And believe when they think the country is headed in the wrong direction you would have to work pretty hard to make the case that the economy is not part of their basis for saying that. There are other reasons, but it would be one of the pillars.

Because I am a giver, I will ya the part about there being "a lot going on inside the polls." It is complicated in some areas because voters/dems give points for what has happened during the administration but then also say they think Joe should be replaced. That can be a complicated scenario. You get some of that with Trump too. You can ask some voters if they think Trump did a good job last time and the country was better off then and they will say yes. But there also some who are thinking enough was enough too. So one has to be careful about making leaps without querying directly on that in a poll.

I get it.Seeing Biden polling similar to McCain,Romney and Trump has to be triggering to a Biden supporter.Feel free to add me ignore.
