Hey I've been meaning to ask you... regarding Youngkin..... didn't you tell me a few months back (I forget who we were talking about)..... that coming to the party late cost way too much money and was pretty much a non-starter?
I thought it was in reference to my query about Pompeo, but I did a search and it wasn't him. But i could have swore you remarked on this. IE, late arrivals.
Yep. I did say that about late arrivals but also said some things that distinguished Youngkin if he were to go for it. Foremost is the fact that Youngkin has some media and public image and perception and successes and would not be starting from scratch, AND even more "foremoster" than that he has big donors begging him to run and willing to lay down the bucks right out of the chute. There is a lot of campaign organization and pressuring him to run going on in the background and has been for quite a while. It is extremely hard to come in late, so if you are going to try it you need to have lots of cash and pre-planning on your side. He has that. Youngkin has said that he wants to flip the house in Virginia to republican on November 7 and be able to campaign on a continuation of his record of flipping a blue state and adding republican seats. If Nov 7 does not go well for him. That dents his major talking point seriously. If it goes his way, well, expect to hear more. So November is sort of a last chance for him.
But if some other unknown who is just thinking about prepping for a run wants a shot at it this late, forgettabout it. He is already hurting Haley and Desantis because many of the big donors are holding off to see what Youngkin does.
