Oh no doubt. That is why the intensity has grown in just the last week. You will find people who are getting very vocal that he needs to not run, then a few weeks will go by and if his detractors are making no progress they swing the other way and go back to supporting him because they see it is then too late and they need to defend whatever has a D after its name.
It's a messy situation. You can control when a person can no longer get on the ballot but you cannot control when Joe might go tits up and have to drop out. It is nightmare to have Joe drop out, a nightmare to have him stay in and would be an ultra-nightmare for him to drop out after it was too late for viable opponents to get in and develop campaigns.
What a mess.
For the record, I do not discount there is a possibility Biden could suffer some unfortunate circumstance which would force him to drop out. And, while those odds are higher than previous incumbents, they’re still low.
A lot of this narrative in the media is driven by right wing politicos as a general election setup attack on his age. Which, not to sound like a broken record for months and months, is Biden’s true weakness.
