Normally, I find myself opposed to your positions but this is spot on. As a guy that watches very little cable news I can tell you, you can tell the cable news watchers from the non cable news watchers. And yes that is for “both sides” (even though I hate that term).
Let me give an example from both. On the left, people actually think the border should be tightly secured and on the right people support common sense gun control. Cable news watchers argue against measures to secure the border and gun control. I theorize the reason why is because cable news builds up people’s identities and they look to mimic what they see on tv in real life.
Yes but that narrative does not fit the small minded cable viewers so therefore we should pay more attention to the cabel viewers because they are the most vocla and set the narrative.
Oh yes, cable news is very powerful. A lot of the messaging gets worked out on these outlets before it makes it to larger population.
A lot of the messaging gets worked out over at the White House and the DNC too before being "worked out on these outlets" and then transitted to them. I could say RNC too but not much going on there. No one knows what they do.
The RNC is a private corporation which exists to lose republican races and then tell its donors that the reason the republican lost is because they didn't donate enough money.
The Beluga is aching to get in and do what he does best.
Unfortunately, winning primaries is not what he does best.
But it would create a lot of entertainment value, and actually would be helpful to the non-Trump candidates who can stay up and out of the nude mud wrestling with Trump a bit while watching Christie draw the blood and disgrace himself along with Trump.
Hard to tell if Christie will get in though. He mouths off just because that is what he does. He will mouth off if he gets in, and he will mouth off if he does not. So it is not necessarily a leading indicator of anything.

They should hire Liz Cheney to run that place.
She pretends to be Republican, and the RNC pretends to be Republican.
She is stuck back in the Cheney-Bush era, and the RNC is stuck back in the Cheney-Bush era.
She likes to lose, and the RNC exists to help candidates lose.
Liz could not locate Wyoming on a map. She knows that it is somewhere west of the Beltway. Ditto for the RNC. They both avoid talking to voters out in the real world. You can get covid doing that. Stay safe by staying within the beltway and talk only to lobbyists to avoid covid.
So, why would that not be an ideal arrangement?
That's the problem in a nutshell (a nutshell?). Those few million Fox viewers are controlling the narrative in the House right now, or is Fox controlling the narrative in the House via the brains of its viewers?. I don't know. All I know is that something is very wrong. I, which is where it counts! That's what some are talking about when they say "democracy is in trouble". The majority of people in the nation want one thing, The House wants something else. It's like landmass has more voting rights than people, which is turning democracy on its head. Something is not right here.
