The guy has had/has his demons in life, which I will not replay.
Nevertheless, there is not a person in the dem party who has spent more of his life working on environmental issues- something the dems used to pretend to care about.
Pretty cheap and dirty of the dems to reduce him to just an anti-vaxxer. Maybe the conservatives are doing it too. Either way. Maybe he can debate Joe on this. Heh, little joke there. Joe is not debating any other dem.
He also has a pretty bad case of spasmodic dysphonia- a speech disability/condition- so it is pretty ballsy of him to proceed on a path that requires putting himself out there in an arena that requires speaking ability.
So I will give him a few quick points.
I may get to the negatives later but I support anyone who wants to go out on the hunt.

As I have said before, these guys on the fringe are watching DeSantis, not Trump.
I am very Rumsfeldian about all this. You know, Donald Rumsfeld and his statement that "there are knowns, and then there are known unknowns and unknown unknowns, etc. however the frig that line goes.
Trump is running strong but everyone needs to watch their arse.
If Suarez does run I am going to guess that that little matter of his voting for Gillum rather than DeSantis will come up. Ya think?
Miami mayor ‘close’ to decision on 2024 GOP presidential bid
Miami Mayor Francis Suarez (R) said he is “close” to deciding whether to run for the GOP nomination for the 2024 presidential election.
Suarez said in an interview on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends” on Thursday that any candidate who wants to run for the Republican nomination needs to have declared before the first GOP debate in August.
“I’m close to making a decision because, you know, Aug. 20 is the first debate. I think any candidate who wants to run for president needs to be on that stage,” he said.
Suarez said Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel is “doing a tremendous job” of giving a diverse group of candidates an opportunity to be on the stage and creating a competitive primary.
He said he has seen former President Trump and potential GOP candidates like former Vice President Mike Pence and New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu speak, adding that they are part of a “very talented bench” from the Republican Party.
Suarez said he is comfortable with being a “retail politician” and talking directly to people. He said he has recently visited New Hampshire, Iowa, South Carolina and Nevada — four states that vote early during the primary and caucus season.
said in 2021 that he was not ruling out a run for the presidency, arguing that the country is “thirsting” for new and younger leadership in the White House.
He said on Thursday that younger leadership matters in regard to a “hyper competitive landscape” in which China is becoming a greater threat and technologies like artificial intelligence and quantum computing are becoming more prominent.
“I think in terms of the former president, I really believe in generational leadership. And I don’t mean that as a buzz word. I think a lot of candidates are throwing that around as a buzz word,” he said.

The dems are having their little fun for now.
The chief beneficiary of that "Biden can beat Trump" narrative is of course Biden. Otherwise, dems have little to no interest in Biden. You guys are making the mistake of the decade, even if Biden wins. If you went with a younger, zippier candidate you probably would own the white house for the next eight years after the election. With Biden, win or lose, it ain't going to happen.
But that is why they fear DeSantis. If anyone other than Trump comes along to take the polling lead Trump will be sorry-arsed, but not as sorry-arsed as the dems. Suddenly they start thinking "what do I need fucking Biden for then? Have your fun while it lasts.
