Election 2024 Foreplay

Like I said if you’re hoping for someone other than Trump to be the nominee then you better hope he goes to jail for a few years.

No, it is the other way around.

If you are hoping for Trump to be the nominee, you want to worry about the factors I mentioned.

The winner take all factor in various states works to Trump's favor. I guess. I don't know though. It may work to DeSantis;s favor. I don;t know but concede that as a watch-out factor.

But lemme tell ya. The no Fox news advocacy is a factor. The empty chairs at rallies will becoming the elephant in the room. And a fundamental element of Trumpism is "I want people who can win" will be worked back against Trump.

Fundraising is a murky factor too. Some big donors are not going with Trump and it is hard to see what his plan is there. He bragged in 2016 that he did not need to do fundraising because the networks gave him so much coverage. Okay. What's the plan this time? Last time he was the incumbent so that was different and brought some advantages. If Rupert Murdoch said: "we want to make Trump a non-person" then that means most of the intense coverage he will get will be from the lefty media. Anyway. I will need to see more about his fundraising or lack thereof as we go forward.

Right now I am saying, lots of things are uphill for Trump, and you are saying he can do nothing from his basement and win.

That's fine. Just telling you what I think.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr 'thinking about' launching Democratic challenge to Biden for 2024 White House nomination
'My wife has greenlighted it,' RFK Jr. said of his potential 2024 run for president

A anti-vax Covid-denying clown who also spins all sort of other conspiracy fantasies has no chance in a Democratic primary. His announcement is a joke. I can only assume that his plan is to grift more money from the anti-vax crowd.

Medicare and Social Security will be a top issue in 2024. Biden is marking his territory and will make republicans take a position.

No doubt the republicans will be pointing out that Biden is doing a great job of protecting the country's borders. That country would be Ukraine.

And they will also be pointing out that Biden has vastly increased and increases daily the social and medical safety net for the country. That country would be Ukraine.

So there is that for him to deal with.

Triangulating Ukraine to attack issues like the border and social security will backfire on any republican running for president. Americans overwhelmingly support America’s efforts in Ukraine. Big mistake if they go there.

Border is a major downer on democrats though. No need to tie Ukraine in there. It’s a strong attack point for republicans - not that they will do anything about it.

Republicans need to duck any questions on ss or Medicare. They have no good policies other reduction in benefits or privatization and cost sharing - those don’t fly with the electorate.

Big mistake if they go there.

If the election were to be held today. But it is not.

Otherwise, two years can make a lot of difference, and Americans are looking for a little sumpin' sumpin' for themselves.

It would equally be a mistake to go into the election with an attitude and messaging that everything is all about Ukraine and the sky is the limit for funding.

Biden has been running a typical "guns and butter" funding policy. That is all fine for voters as long as the butter keeps coming. If you cut that out then they start looking at the guns. He has maxed out in some areas as far as getting more freebie and infra-pork programs but he might be able to do it. Unless he can't. Republicans and all.

I said not long ago that I do not see how Trump gets lift-off and traction in his current campaign without Fox News.

Can anyone explain to me how that happens?

Certainly no signs of it yet.

Two days after the pro-Trump riot at Capitol Hill, Mr Murdoch emailed a Fox executive to say the network is "very busy pivoting".

"We want to make Trump a non person," his publicly released emails show.

Carlson has been a big mouthpiece for Trump over at Fox. His latest is defending January 6th defendants. Yet he knows…
