Election 2024 Foreplay

Sort of an interesting political story here, although probably a bit insignificant to some.

Anyway, many will recall that Catherine Herridge was a long time national security type correspondent for Fox. Nothing special but a decent utility grade reporter.

But she was known to either be left leaning or otherwise dissatisfied with Fox news management. Anyway she eventually jumped ship and went over to Leftyville. Fine. Whatevah floats your boat.

Flash forward several years to today, and she has some flap going with CBS. They canned her as part of layoffs. In addition they seized all of her work and private records at work and did not let her take them with her. She alleges that CBS interfered with her investigation and reporting on Hunter Biden (hey, this can happen) among other things. And on top of that she is facing jail time for refusing to divulge her sources on one or more cases- and not only did CBS refuse to help defend her and defend reporters similarly situated, she no long works for CBS so chances of them doing that are even less.

Yep, life over in the Left Lane is not always as warm and fuzzy as it looks. They are a nasty bunch.

Not much will come of the Congressional hearing coming up, but if she testifies on how a major media network kaiboshed her investigation and reporting of Hunter then the public needs to hear that. Keep in mind that the lefty media all worked with the White House/DOJ to promote the message that the laptop was Russian disinformation.

As stated a few days ago: No-go with Manchin, no-go with Larry Hogan who decided to go for a Senate race, and then the death of Joe Lieberman- one of the groups founders and leaders- would probably leave No Labels with no place to go.

And as I discussed in that post, the true winner -when they dropped out- would be RFK because No Labels and Bobby were playing in the same space. Yeh, I get and everyone gets that neither is going to win so if we could get past that that would be great. But Bobby wants a handful of points to be kingmaker/spoiler whatever and No Labels with- say Joe Manchin- could scoop up ten points or so, minimum. Not to be though.

And here we are:

This is good for Trump as a Joe Manchin/Chris Christie or Larry Hogan would appeal to right wing voters while Kennedy appeals to left wing voters.

Biden has 2 or 3 spoilers,Trump has none.

I don't think it will heat up beyond the region but it will get messier- especially with Hezbollah/Iran-centric attacks from the North. And the Houthis will be continual attackers for a long time to come. The Iranians have pretty much tied into the fact that there are no consequences for their meddling/instigating so will just harass forever and a day and always stop short of doing anything that would cause Biden to take action. Believe me though, they will be watching the elections closely. Trump is not their man.

Things are not necessarily hopeless long run. Camp Trump gets along with the Saudis. And not to forget that the reason that Hamas attacked was to torpedo the restorations of relations between Israel and the Saudis. And the Saudis want the palestinian cause improved but they also want to see Iran supported Hamas out of Gaza and replaced with a more Sunni/Saudi type of muslim control. It's complicated and there are a lot of moving parts, but Biden made things worse. Trump can work with the Bibi and he can work with Bone-Saw too. Trump, Israel, and Bone-Saw can also make unmentionable things happen in Iran too if they misbehave. Refer to former General Somenani/sp for more on that. Biden fucked this up beyond repair. It boggles the human mind to think that he gave Iran billions and billions almost on exactly the same day Hamas attacked. Boggles the mind. It would not surprise me at all if they are having secret negotiations to give them more right now in return for getting Hamas to back off a bit. Boggles the mind. As Nikki Haley said- Bless her heart as the Southerners say- "why does Joe Biden feel like every time he finds a dollar he needs to give it to Iran? What is the answer to that?
