Oh I dunno. I would take the other side of that argument. Ohio has a pantload of delegates and is seriously, seriously in play as a swing state. (or has been). There is not presidential candidate who would not give his left nut to lock that state down as hard as possible.
I wonder more about what the hell he thinks he is doing by ignoring them for so long rather than wonder why he is going. Joe, what the hell were yout thinking?
And castastrophes tend to put everyone on the same team in a state regardless of differences and there are lots on independent voters in every state. For an Ohioan - red or blue- to look over and see that the president (and Buttigieg for the longest time) did not share their pain and show up when it counted the most has a real dirty look to it.
Trump will probably show up there again after/if Biden goes. Bubba Clinton would have gone and not have been able to finish his speech because he was crying so much, and then go bowling with a couple of them later. (Bubba used to tell all his campaign workers that they showed up in a town too late in the day to canvass, don't just go to bed because the bowling alleys are always open and you can talk to the people there, heh, funny dat).

I looked at Wiki, those counties are all the ones with Universities. That lone county on the SE side... I had to look. Why the anomaly? Turns out that is where Ohio U. is. Athens County. (Not OSU) , but a decent sized school. Probably not much else there.
Trump won the state by 8 points in 2020... so Joe better not stop his tour in E Palestine if he has eye's set on carrying the Suckeye's.
Yup, Ohio looking red when the pub candidate is good and blue when the dem candidate looks good so no one should let their guard down. Ohio went dem in the 2008 and 2012 elections so Joe may have seen better days there. But Obama was heading up the ticket. Joe ain't no Obama.
JD Vance beating Tim Ryan in the Senate race there recently has also helped to ratchet up the republican edge too. Ryan was a hard-core a lefty who brought in a lot of nationwide funds to whip up the dems but bye-bye to him.
Ryan is not a hardcore lefty he distanced himself from the left as far as he could,and thats why he got his ass handed to him
I don’t know about this poll but sinking the border bill is going to bite the republicans in the ass.
Even worse might be if the bullshit bill passes and then the migrants are still surging in the fall.
That will drive up the number of voters who think that the only way you can fix Biden's mess is to get rid of Biden- which of course is actually the case. And if Trump surges or remains high due to perceived failure of the bill/biden then the migrants will massively surge to get in before Trump is elected- already happening but I mean moreso.
