One thing I have noticed about Nikki is that she does better in debates than in townhalls and extended venues where he has the entire floor- in my view. She keeps it short when she has to in a debate but you give her too much time or the entire floor and she starts seriously flapping her gums and her arms excessively. Gets to be too much I think. Many lawyers have that problem in court. You give em some extra time and they think they need to put extra filler in there. She is obviously doing well in townhalls too. Just sayin, she can get ultra chatty and verbal if you giver her too much rope. Actually her buddy Sununu is the same way. He can flap on at length and go over the top of the bell curve too.
Shamelessly quoting my own post above here, but the debate "expert" here in this article interestingly makes the same point I made above about Nikki trying to ram the whole enchilada into a short space of time. Although we came at it from different angles. He faulted her for doing it in the debate but I gave her credit for doing so much better with it in debates where time limits are set- because off in town halls or solo interviews where she is given more time she just goes on and on to the point of weakening her point.
Make a point or two then land your plane for crisesakes woman.
Debate coach: One candidate got a B. The other almost flunked
Editor’s Note: Todd Graham is a professor of debate at Southern Illinois University. His teams have won five national championships; he’s been named the national debate coach of the year three times and been presented with the lifetime achievement award in academia and debate.
The other hiccup for Haley is that she debates as if she can win the whole debate, nay, the entire presidency, in this very instant right now if she jams as many topics as possible into each of her answers. Debt limit, supporting Ukraine, Iowa campaigning, renewable fuel standards and social security are all deep topics. Yet Haley mentioned all those and more in just one of her crowded answers.
