About last night, there’s a lot of head scratching going on. A lot of the pundits are sticking with their priors, which may very well be correct, that Biden didn’t drag down the down ballot ticket. But I kind of think the American voter is t actually as mad about the economy as the polls suggest.
Democrats outperformed everywhere. I had a keen eye on NJ as I live here and watched for seats lost in the assembly but democrats actually gained seats when there was a slim but real chance they could lose the chamber.
In Pennsylvania the democrats ran the table winning everything that wasn’t nailed down. And in Virginia obviously Toungkin couldn’t carry republicans.
So what happened? My opinion is republicans don’t show up in what has traditionally been their strongest showings, off year elections. Why? I don’t know other than they are not as enthusiastic as the conventional wisdom based on the polling says.
Anyway, that’s my two cents. History show now that during Biden’s administration polling shows poor national sentiment but resounding democratic victories at the ballot box.
