It's not been tested yet, but we may get an opportunity to see it tested soon. ---It only makes sense due to Federal Supremacy in The Constitution. Otherwise, state judicial systems can do exactly what they are doing now in attempting to disrupt political opponents.

Indeed this is so and works against the various loon states trying to keep him off the ballot. There has been no finding of insurrection by any court. If the President had been successfully impeached for such then the argument could be made that that was a legit forum to make that determination, except he was found not guilty when impeached. In addition the power to impeach includes the power to prevent him from running again, making the case yet again that the Senate impeachment process had jurisdiction over the issue. Not the states- unless they have a finding of guilt elsewhere.

This is wrong. Not every citizen is subject to impeachment and can be disqualified based on regular judicial proceedings trying insurrection or rebellion. A judicial conviction is sufficient for disqualification.

You have a conviction on Trump for treason or insurrection somewhere? Where the charge against him is treason and insurrection? Not just your view that he did some crime that should be considered to be treason and insurrection even though that it is not the charging statute? The fact that he was not convicted at impeachment for such and the feds declined to charge him for such is not a good sign. Also, in regard to this state thingy, keep in mind that the court has ruled that criteria for voter eligibility on national issues is/are under the control of the feds, not states. As when the court upheld the right of congress to mandate the legal voting age in states for national elections. So there is that issue for the states to overcome as well.
There are some loons out there, hopefully you are not one, who are arguing that a prior conviction or adjudication is not even required. That somehow the local newspaper in Minneapolis can just run a poll or something or the local legislature can decide they think he committed treason or insurrection. Heh, loons gotta loon. God created appeals courts for those dumphuks.
Having said that, we know that at least couple states will use/abuse the process to make a political process and then the appeals courts will have to deal with it. The dems are all hacks.

A national poll conducted by Quinnipiac University showed that independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. garnered 22% support among registered voters in a hypothetical three-way matchup for the 2024 election.
