El Hoyo / The platform

Very glad you liked it, the crazy thing is I was to be in Greenland learning from a master bladesmith right now but he was on holidays on the Faroe islands (also amazing) on the other side of Iceland and all this happened of course.

The movie The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is also a must see for Greenland and Iceland, a movie I don't tire of. Beautifuly shot movie as well.

There is a recent episode of Black Mirror (on Netflix) filmed in Iceland called "Crocodile" (season 4) though beautiful, it is a bit gruesome. Its hard to identify at first as the characters are English speakers.

Another movie that is interesting from a "where is that?" kind of feeling is called Womb with Matt Smith and the beautiful Eva Green. A little slow (called Clone in the US because it has to be too obvious). Perhaps its as I know a lot of the world and knowing the house setting was Europe but no idea where (coast of Germany).

Today I'm in the mood for some Godzilla. 62 days in lockdown today. Brain is a bit sprained so some good old monster rubbish. :)

I liked one of the more recent Godzilla films with Brian Cranston in it. Nothing like a King of Monsters movie on a Sunday afternoon. Just watched another apocalyptic movie, How it Ends. Not recommended. Tedious and predictable. Ending seemed like they ran put of money and said fuck it.

Watched the Platform last night. Rather dim view of capitalism. LOL. I did like how it captured the all too often true reality of how quickly people forget where they came from when finding themselves at a higher level. The movie seemed want to have us believe that randomness and dumb luck were more to play than anything else in how people rise and fall through the system, but who knows, maybe that's how it is.

A bug on ET is the author of a thread often does not get notifications or updates.

Keeping with the idea of of you are confined, it's not so bad after you see this..

I found a "found footage" horror/suspence which was actually very good called "As Above So Below". I have a real dislike for movies which depend on the protagonists doing stupid things but sometimes you get a good intelligent one. Horror rarely grabs my attention but the odd time..

I have done one of these movies myself and helped a friend tighten up the script for another that one that made a fantastic return. I never understood why so many films have gaping plot holes and they are often not hard to close.

Watching Deep Cover again. Great film. Directed by Bill Duke. Stars Lawrence Fishburne, Jeff Goldblum, Clarence Williams III. Can't miss with those guys.

Great cast, I don't know if I have see it, 1992 is back a ways, I was in university so highly likely.

I'll have a look, it has a high rating.

I just watched a really brilliant movie on Netflix called Circle (2015). It really gets into the nature of people under pressure and how given any large group, people will confirm to stereotypes.

My wife who has avoided it thinking it was horror was fascinated by it and you can identify all the characters on ET in it. :) In ways it really cuts into how many are judging who lives and dies in the current crisis but also larger American society.

It has the still beautiful Julie Benz who I worked with on a Buffy thing but otherwise, unknowns. It could be adapted as a stage play like The Man from Earth.

Seen it and agree the people doing dumb shit just to keep the story going has always annoyed me. It's like just kill'em all and get it over with. As above so below has more going for it and was entertaining. I'll give your other recommendation a look see.

ET for sure. It would be an interesting experiment to see what alliances would be formed if we could vote people out of the forum. Might be some surprises. It was a makes you think about things kind of movie.
