I like the concept of cutting a trade if it isn't 'acting right' or getting out of a trade if it hasn't moved my way in certain amount of time/bars, but in my experience, it just overcomplicates things with the net result being the same. Some trades you close early and it then screams in your intended direction, and sometimes it reduces your losses.
In my experimenting I haven't noticed a good enough improvement from such practices to encourage further digging in that respect.
