efficient stop loss

Why do you post such blatant nonsense.

Who's asking for what will happen at all. That is my point. Geez read much.

You don’t have a point other than to argue on an irrelevant basis. Perhaps longandshorts thoughts exceeded your mental capacity and you felt the need to chime in to sound smart.

@eleanorK80

I daytrade futures for metals and energies and I analyze/change stoploss values weekly due to changes in market structure and volatility. You have to find an initial stoploss that is larger than the noise of the instrument you are trading and the maximum stoploss would depend on your risk tolerance and profit targets like @sameera says.

I dont use a stop loss for cash metals;
but its somewhat of a modified bid \ask profit deal.
[I use a stop loss somewhat like you, with ETFs do ,except sure use discretion .You can toucan LOL.]
Some asked Don Bright Daytrading Co why they did not daytrade futures+ FOREX outright [not just futures just as a single stock signal] He explained they did much better with daytrading stocks, Eleanor K800.
Frankly i cant stand demo accounts\ but still sometimes paper trade , which could be close to the same thing except its not the same thing @ all with me.

I dont daytrade single stocks or swing them, cant make enough to suit me ;
even though Mike Masters Fund + Peter Lynch did real well with them:caution::caution:

You have a big appetite, Mr Turtle.

I day trade single stocks, for me a free Big Mac every day, from my daily trading profit, is enough. :D:D:D

Good thing I did not aim @ repeat SPXL profits, this week\cut loss on SPY inverse+ SSO.
SSO = snack size of SPY ,LOL

How do you determine the ideal placement of a stop loss to effectively balance risk management and profit potential in your trading strategy?

I run an algorithm that looks at the last X trading days and finds the stoploss that gives me the highest probability of staying in the trade to my profit target.

Funnymentals don’t work because you can’t know the future but charts do because you can’t know the future.

FUN LOL;
some people can still steer by the stars, [or star based exits] but not by what average fake news paper says about stars.:D:D
Want proof ??
A sundial proves it , a bit rough , but do have to adjust for seasonals + location:caution:[Edit may not work so well on cloudy- rainy days LOL :D]
