Edward O. Thorp on charting

Just finished "A man for all markets". I recommend it not as a trading methodology book but for motivation in life in general. It's incredible how much he conquered by going the road less travelled. I would have loved to read somewhere " I completely suck at( insert activity )" but this guy doesn't really suck at anything apparently.

Half way through it at this point and thought the same. A stumble here or there maybe, but nope. The guy is sharp, his record speaks for itself, but come on.

Nonetheless I highly recommend it.

Also, of all of the self-proclaimed successful "pure price action traders," I've never seen one with a profitable, verified long-term track record.

Well Marty Schwartz had an incredible track record, and he traded using PA/technical analysis completely.

I think some of the more famous pit traders (Mark Ritchie) for example were also trading PA/techinicals and made boatloads of money. They had some unfair advantages (orderflow) back in day, but so did most others in the pits with them, so the point still holds that is possible to trade price profitably.

Yes, true. But that is all ancient history. The markets are far different now. Even tudor jones is struggling with best and most experienced TA money can buy-- he changed the structure of his tactics due to this fact. Either u change or get wiped out.

TA can have its place in trading. Its great for description but really has zero predictive value as is proven time and time again. Yet u keep using it to make decisions about the future?
Such a hypocrite!
Your predictive skills are zero.
You keep dragging this shit up about TA and predictions.
You're a trading loser - period!
Stick to selling and marketing.

Well if he still using Tom DeMark's techniques (I don't see why he wouldn't) he would of caught himself a winner winner chicken dinner this morning like I did with TD Sell Sequential and TD ROC:

I just double checked it, MR founded, with his bro Joe, CRT=Chicago Research & Trading. Sure glad he did NOT name it Chicago Trading & Research- LOL

Genuine question. I don't mean to be snide. VN is well known for selling SP500 options. The article you link to hints at counter trend?
