Edit or Delete Your Own Messages?

Hello,
after I posted a forum message, I noticed there is no delete or edit option? Are members allowed to delete or edit their own messages?

Yes there is an edit and delete function, it works during a limited time though, about 30mns

That's strange. Google's YouTube, most other Forum's, even TradeStation's forum allow you to always edit and delete your own post.

Why doesn't EliteTrader allow you to always edit or delete your own messages?

It goes way back, having partly to do with the obsession regarding "real-time calls". It's easy enough to fake RT calls, but when you can go back and change your post in order to give yourself results that are completely unrelated to reality, it just make the whole RT call thing that much more ridiculous.

There is also the matter of changing the terms of a "debate" such that someone who responds to some post that is no longer what it was when the response was made winds up twisting in the wind and looking like a fool.
