I would say it's the ability to identify, read, and trade the trend.
What more would you need?

I don't really listen to "investors"... except maybe the Oracle...
And will definitely not take anything on from "investors" (or traders) that are mainly marketing their book or other things... (among others Surf).

Sounds relatively simple enough, but I would say 99.7% to some extent or degree fail somewhere along the tumultuous journey,

Somehow evolution favors the impatient since most young peoples are impatient and probably will ignore your advice yet as you all said, patience is the most important virtue for successful investing. I wished I listened to reasons when I was younger and had more time for compounding.
