ECN id's on Nasdaq Level 2 Screen

Hi! Can anybody post a table with explanation of ECN id's ?I just got that Island is now *cin instead of ISLD, but what does *pac, *nsd, *nbb, *bos and so on mean now ?

Let me test my knowledge...

NBB just means National Best Bid, NBO = national best offer



CIN Stands for http://www.cincinnatistock.com/ exchange, were ISLD apparently routes some/all orders.

PAC would be the Pacific Exchange: http://www.pacificex.com/

BOS the Boston Exchange, etc: http://www.bostonstock.com/


There are a few regional electronic exchanges that orders are routed to. Some level 2 displays show it as CINN, or ISLD/INET

Archipelago, a leading U.S.-based electronic communications network (ECN), will convert its technologically advanced equity trading system into ArcaEx, a regulated facility of the Pacific, and a replacement for the PCX's current floor-based equities marketplace.
 
You must have been looking at a (NYSE/AMEX-) listed stock, and your software is showing you the CQS display of the different regional exchanges.

For listed stocks:

INET (fka Island) displays their quotes through the CSX, aka CINN, *CIN.

ARCA displays their quotes as PACX, aka *PCX.

Boston Stock Exchange is BOSX, aka *BOS, BSX.

Philly Stock Exchange is PHLX, aka *PHX.

Seems like BRUT used to display through the Nasdaq ITS as NASD, aka *NSD, but I can't prove it at the moment (it's too late in the day).
