Ebert on Palin: Two Thumbs Down

Ebert is a wannabe movie director, nothing more.
Palin was less than impressive during the interview. Her foreign policy answers were lame, but that's to be expected. She'll need to tune that up and right quick, but it's not a deal killer at this point.
She will need to sound much stronger on domestic policy when questioned. If she looks as ill prepared on that as she does on foreign policy...hard times are coming for her and Mac.

She was blunt and transparent whereas Obama is lawyer slick evaisive. There isn't a single Obama supporter with a CLUE as to his intentions. Iraq is a dead issue. Americans want to know "what's next"? Obama doesn't give either revealing or reassuring answers. To wit: McCain has opened up an even LARGER gap on Intrade today after last nights round of candidate interviews.

One thing I like about her (and McCain) is I strongly believe they're going to concentrate more on domestic policy than war policy.

She's MUCH MORE of a Buchananite than a neo-con Bushie. I wouldn't call her hypothetical support of Israel tepid but she was far less hawkish than Obama when he addressed AIPAC back in July.

I make no bones about it. I believe Obama is secretly a war monger just like Johnson was in 1964. Opposing the war in Iraq doesn't make one a peaceful isolationist. Obama doesn't shut up about his desire to step it up on the Afghan-Pakistan border.

Let's compare which behavior is less ethical:

A woman is addicted to drugs and steals those drugs to feed her habit.

A black woman married to a white millionaire film critic uses a minority set aside to partner with a convicted mobster in a gambling casino.

Anyone who sees a moral equivalence between these two examples LACKS morals.

Her answers were weak IMO, but I'm sure she'll improve. The opportunity to improve is a huge plus. Obama is what he is, and we already know what that is...an empty suit.
I certainly hope that Mac/Palin focus on domestic policy as it's a mess. I'd like to see them take a stronger stance on illegal immigration, but I doubt I'll be satisfied on that front. Anything less than piles of dead mexicans at the border will disappoint me. I suppose that's slightly more aggressive than one can realistically expect.
I tend to agree with your view of Obama as a threat for more and bigger wars, but not because he's a war monger. IMO, the threat is greater with him because he'll over react in an attempt to prove he isn't a limp wristed pussy.
I am disappointed with both parties, but at the end of the day it's just too important to stand aside and watch. I'll vote for Mac and know that's the better choice.
