Earth to Republican party

Quote from CaptainObvious:

Exactly! A true leader could destroy Obama and the current Dem administration, but someone needs to be able to step up and call a spade a spade.

And just what would that GOP leader run on . . . fiscal restraint? :D

As dumb as Palin was, even SHE KNEW exactly why the GOP had no chance to win last November. Doubling the national debt under Bush did not help the GOP's cause.

Prop 13 only affects only those properties than were owned before 1979. Any buying or selling after that is taxed at current Cali rates.

Quote from Pa(b)st Prime:

Cripes! I know you've got a big ass house that's worth a fortune but doesn't Prop 13 help those in California any better than that?

OMG!! I didn't even know that! So roughly 1.25% on new purchases, eh?

I'm bored here primarilly because I can't debate people with comparable Mensa level I.Q.'s.

I'll waste a few seconds of life though.

The Federal government uses resources (taxes) that would deliver more services to citizens if left to local government. While Obama runs war deficits of 10-12 billion a month which makes none of us "safer" my local police departments-which do ensure my safety-are cutting back on personel. Nor does the Federal government pay for the public schools, purify my drinking water, pave and clean my streets, fund emergency services, provide local parks and libraries or monitor local business for sanitary or code violations. Every dollar that I send to D.C.-and you'd be happy earning what I pay in taxes-is money that could tangibly improve my standard of living. Instead those taxes feed a paper shuffling bureaucracy of 2 million strong who make more in average salary let alone retirement benefits than the average earnings of non-Federal workers. Of course I get the warm fuzzy feeling that comes from billions in aid going to Israel, Egypt, Pakistan and Africa.

Yea as a trader/manager I can live in the Dakota's or Bermuda or wherever. But to expect WAGE EARNERS let alone JOB CREATORS to be forced emigrants to less onerous tax locations will only facilitate America's plunge into the third world.

Here's an idea. Why don't you take YOUR communist ass to Cuba? You can milk Castro's free health care system and he'll pay you eight dollars a month to sit on your ass. Sounds like utopia for you and your ilk........

Dude you should stop pimping your meaningless IQ score. I took Calculus when I was 13 and was the only one in my high school to complete 6 years of science (AP Chem, AP Bio, AP Physics B) plus (AP Calculus AB & AP Calculus BC) as well IB Diploma(and a boatload of other AP courses). I would eat mensa members for breakfast.

Your post was pure demagoguery. Taxes at your local/state level are not controlled by the federal government. If you don't like them you vote for different people in the muni/state elections. Here in Florida we don't have state income tax for individuals and sales taxes is quite reasonable. Your property taxes vary by locality and issues faced. Nobody forces you to live in Ft. Lauderdale (if you live there) or Boca/Palm Beach/Miami you can live in Jacksonvilly/Tally/Tampa/Orlando etc. Want to live in paradise? You have to pay for it.

http://www.kff.org/medicare/upload/7305_03.pdf According to this document Out of total medicare financing only 3% is covered by payments from states 12% is by beneficiaries themselves, 41% is from payroll taxes and 39% from general revenue. From what i read general revenue is not a category for payments from states(it says typically money from income taxes).
