Early Tea Baggers...

That may well be.

Byrd has changed his 60's position as he realized it was wrong, but the baggers support non institutional racism if they support Rand...

It looks like Sen. Robert Byrd in the background.

Ahhh yes....

He changed his ideals, morals, and entire way of thinking when he was voted into office.

Maybe, maybe not.

However, his voting record reflects a fight against institutional and private racism...

I am sure you know Byrd led the filibuster of the civil rights act.

Right?

In effect, the Klan was a military force serving the interests of the Democratic party, the planter class, and all those who desired restoration of white supremacy. Its purposes were political, but political in the broadest sense, for it sought to affect power relations, both public and private, throughout Southern society. It aimed to reverse the interlocking changes sweeping over the South during Reconstruction: to destroy the Republican party's infrastructure, undermine the Reconstruction state, reestablish control of the black labor force, and restore racial subordination in every aspect of Southern life

Then why did it experience a resurgence in Indiana in the 1920s? I get tired of all the hypocrites who say racism is only in the South.

The past several decades.

Do you now believe people change change their position, come to a conclusion that their previous position was wrong?

Byrd was a KKK member, and that deep of hatred of another person is tough to change, IMHO.

Byrd did everything he could to stop the civil rights act, goes to voting record. You need to stand corrected.

You can't stand that your beloved liberals are in fact the very people that did everything in their power to stop racial progress.

Yes, Byrd was a KKK member.

I understand what Byrd's position was, and how it has been since his admission he was wrong.

Did his heart change, or just his actions?

I can't say...but his actions the past several decades reflect a change of some kind.

Byrd could have changed his party, like so many other Dixiecrats did to republican...and he would likely have been re-elected in West Virginia...so it would appear that he did have change of heart and repented his mistake...but no one but he knows for sure.

People make mistakes, and some admit their mistakes. Some repent their mistakes and try to make amends.

It would be nice if Rand would just admit his mistake...but doesn't appear to be doing so. He is just digging in deeper to his position. He apparently doesn't think it is fundamentally wrong for a business owner to practice racism...and his dancing fool around the issue on Maddow illustrated that he really is not looking to change his position.

There are many logical inconsistencies in Rand and the bagger positions, which when brought into question cause them to become defensive in their positions, and generally try to attack the messenger of their logical inconsistencies...

However, this excursion into Byrd has nothing to do with Rand, but your strawman is duly noted...

So you support an ex KKK member, use racist terms, and then go on obsessive rants calling other people racist who have never done such things. LOL!!! Like I always said, the closet preacher, the pedophile priest, and the racist socialists.... so typical.

You obviously have a penchant for supporting ex KKK members, since you have also expressed support for David Duke. You sure are mighty supportive of those "reformed" KKKers aren't ya? LOL!!!

Moral of the story.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

Wrong A) Practicing racism in your business.

Wrong B) Forcefully imposing your sense of morality on other people
(like bible beating christians, or barbaric muslims, or obsessive PC whore socialists)

Committing B will not right A.
