Early Assignment

Is it posssible to get exercised (assigned early) on a put sell option?
I thought you were only assigned if the stock price drops below the strike price on assignment day.

So you were short put. Yes, you can get exercised early Did happen to me few times.

Seller has obligation but no rights.
