e-miNY crude oil and gas futures changes

Is this really as nutty as it sounds? Or is this just my broker?

You can't enter a Market order for the QM or QN?

I suppose the work-a-round is to enter a Limit order where the Limit is way above the current price, but what is their point?

Been trading QM since the switchover, no problem entering orders.

IMO, why use a market order when limit does the same thing?

The reason is, market orders are "get in now" or "get out now" orders. Limit orders can sit in the market for a long time, until price hits it and you get a fill (or not).

Two completely different order types IMHO.

Most platforms I have seen permit you to "Stage" or "Park" an order for future submission.

Sort of like loading the gun, what stops you from "Staging" a limit order?

What platform is preventing you from QM Market orders?

Sending or staging a Limit order is not the problem. My question was why NYMEX, in their great wisdom, decided not to accept market orders. It isn't my platform preventing a market order, it is NYMEX.

I am not aware of any other exchange NOT accepting market orders.
