It is with great trepidation that I start this thread. But, since there is no running daily E-mini log ( ala Hitman), this might be interesting. Maybe someone will be able to garner a nice informational nugget here and there and maybe I will get a few in return. My only hope is that my postings will not affect my trading too much. 'cause as we all know, everything influences trading. Here goes.

I have just completed my first 5 days of trading the NQ E-mini. I am a complete newbie when it comes trading futures of any kind period. I'm starting with an acct. of $5000.00 USD and trading one contract. Results:

I will post all trades. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Maybe a little commentary with it.

As far as the first 5 days, I think a lot of it was beginners luck. I'm only thankful to start off positive. That really helped (maybe).

Today, unfortunately, I couldn't get any kind of rhythm going from the outset. I felt like I was two steps behind all day. And it really pissed me off that I was shaken out on a lot of potentially good trades. The one time I did open my stop up, I ended up getting stopped out. Rats. Tomorrow's another day. cliche but true.

Feel free to voice opinions. I have very thick skin so fire at will.

8% gain in 1 week, very good start, I noticed that your # of trades has increased steadily, is that due to different trading hours each day or just that your becoming more comfortable.?

Try not to let your success go to your head as drawdowns will come. Early success can be good and bad, bad if you start to feel you own/rule the markets it can make you take on more risk than a 5k account should.

NetProfit-- My time zone requires me to wake very early in the morning (3:30 am). I woke up late the first couple days. And I was definitely chasing today.
 
hey bronks, way to go man, keep it up. And if its not too much trouble please keep these journals going, i too am thinking about going over to the futures side and your journal will definitely help me in setting my expectations. so by all means, please continue. Thank you much.:)
 
Nice job, bronks! I remember myself 3 yars ago starting as well as you.
