E-mini Rookie Trading Journal

This low volume crap is working me, no strong follow through on any moves kinda ties me up. I've been following my methods to a T, but it's just not happen'in. Lots of long candle wicks every where to help with the deception. Yuck.

Mistake of the day: Not flipping my short position in the consolidation area of 930.00 @ 14:15. I don't why flipping a position is so hard to do. Oh well, something to work on.

hey, this is only for bronks :)

it is based on the nasdaq100 index. background is trendfollowing (microtrends on 1min) in the first place. nothing sophisticated.

Daily Chart dailies are in trendmode + trend is down.
market hit 20EMA on around 950, should turn down again.
key low is around 922
key high is around 950

60 min Chart going into range mode
upper trendline is around 960
lower trendline is around 930

15 min Chart uptrend so far

News Greenspan 14.15 !

Play long side with the uptrend on 15min
watch for 1. lower high, go on short side after
scalp only before 14.15

feel free to knock it down :)

hardcash-- nice call on the 15 min. Do you rely a lot on the 1 min. for entries? I usually only monitor this board afterhours, but I'll have to check in more often.

Getting ready for the Big G scenario. What's your play gonna be? Myself, I'll probably sit the whole thing out for about half hour, then dive in w/trend.

is this from TrendVue teaching or from your own homebrewed :p

Given the candlestick charts in the morning and in the afternoon - was today the easy day for a decent profit in eminis?

Lojze-- It's never easy for me. I think I made money today simply because it fit my usual trading plan. Maybe "less hard" would be a better term? :)

Didn't trade at all in the morning, didn't wanna get mixed up in the low volume crap. Pretty much just waited for the Fed decision and reacted to it. The volumes kicked in and I jumped in on the sell side.

Mistake of the day: Sooner or later I gotta learn to hold on longer to a position that's going my way. Eventually, it might happen, just wish it was sooner than later. Shorted @ 931.50 / covered @ 923.50... left some (!) money on the table.

Tempted to go short overnight.
