President Joe Biden caused some heated debate when he claimed at a town hall that vaccinated people cannot get the virus. This comes as CDC data shows over 5,000 fully vaccinated people have been hospitalized due to the virus. The data also notes over 1,000 fully vaccinated people have contracted the virus and died from it. That's nearly 20 percent among those hospitalized.

Michael Levine has over 3000 arrests and 15000 years of time allotted to his work as a DEA agent. But he then came out to reveal bad actions of the CIA and the hopelessness of the "drug wars" with his books Deep Cover: The Inside Story of How DEA Infighting, Incompetence and Subterfuge Lost Us the Biggest Battle of the Drug War and The Big White Lie: The Deep Cover Operation That Exposed the CIA Sabotage of the Drug War. He also worked with Gary Webb who wrote Dark Alliance.

Poverty is not the problem, per se. Rather, it's the poor quality of the schools and of many of the teachers in low income areas, though those poor-quality teachers will undoubtedly become extremely indignant at my having the audacity to make such a statement.

As an educator, I always desired to get paid in accordance with the results I was able to achieve, which is to say, with the amount of progress my students were able to realize over the course of a given school year. Unfortunately, teacher's unions are violently opposed to such pay-for-performance (merit pay) salary structures. They want teachers to get paid more simply for taking another educational course or merely for teaching an additional year. Yikes!

That's one of the main reasons I like trading. It's a realm in which I will actually be handsomely rewarded (hopefully by the end of this year) for problem solving and for competence, God willing. That never happened in all the years I spent educating children.

Great news for all those incompetent "teachers" or poor-quality schools that were either unmotivated or unable to provide the state's youth with a basic education...
