Proverbs 11:28 says that whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf. Moreover, 1 Timothy 6:17 says that we should not set our hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. And finally, Deuteronomy 8:17 warns us that one should beware, lest he say in his heart, "My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth." Verse 18a then goes on to say that we shall remember the Lord our God, for it is he who gives us power to get wealth.
So then, to whatever extent this quest might have led me to a financial paradise, when all is said and done, the praise, honor and glory all belong to God—not to me.
