In Germany more than a 1000 imams are active, that are paid by the Turkish government. How would it fare if we operated state-churches in Islamic countries?

Why does the german government allow this? We have the same problem here with Saudi Arabia funding extremist mosques. They won't let you bring a Bible into Saudi but they are allowed to spew their hate here. We might not be allowed under the First Amendment to ban mosques entirely, but we certainly are not required to let a foreign government finance them.

1st Amendment doesn't cover speech that promotes and encourages violence.
