I am open to advices to replace SWP. If somebody can suggest a good charting and scanning software not too expensive I would be interested

I use Investor R/T by Linnsoft. Pretty fast and versatile scanner.
More options then you could imagine. UI takes getting used to. Has some quirks. Works with most dataproviders, but e-signal is probably best. I have tried a lot, but for my stuff there is nothing better.

Software problem again so I closed all positions. I will resume trading once these problems will be solved.

Hi opw,

I had a look on Investor R/T and it looks fine but 65$/month is still too expensive for me. I bought Amibroker today for 200$ (one time fee). I intend to use it with QT using IB feed for free to start. I will set this up this week and hope I can resume trading soon.

Glad to hear from you.

Yes you can scan the market with AB. The scaning tool seems powerfull. Theoretically you can set up several scans in a single screen.

Yet I haven't re-write my scans. I am in the process of building my database. This is cumbersome but hopefully tomorrow this will be fine and I will be able to run some scans.

Well it depends. I set my stop to the low of the day or the day before I open the position. I generally close the position after 2 or 3 days except if it goes my way.
