Comcast cable is faster than Verizon DSL, but less reliable.
Verizon DSL gives a rock solid connection with constant upload and download speeds. And that is with loop length at over 17,250 feet from the central office.
Comcast cable gives a noisy connection with varying upload and download speeds.
Verizon DSL easily wins over Comcast cable and is about half the price and with no monthly GB cap on downloads.
I have TWC and get about 7mbps down on my wireless connection. Quotes and surfing seem as fast as ever. Even as fast as my landline computer.
I do use Netgear's fastest router WNDR3700 and adapter WNDA3100v2 and Motorola's latest DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem SB6120. I also use Panasonic DEC wireless phones so there is no interference from cordless phones.
