VERY interesting.
Venture capital wants those positions in the lifecycle of a company where their VC capital breaches whatever barriers that the prospect faces, such as the return is in multiples of 3x-4x-10x[!!!]... But they also want to be THE source. Unless that in the *sharing* of that risk (very substantial risk), they can increase the likelihood of delivered returns. ("Yayyyyy!") So, a natural tension here, between a degree of keeping-your-cards-close, and growing-the-pie-for-everyone.
Would be fun to watch.
