Dream Big !

That's the person I knew, yeah. The article is surprisingly respectful, usually when someone dies in the mountains it's like "what was he/she thinking?"

weather there changes on a dime. from what I understand she was bailing out but the area she was at when she got in trouble was easily 5 or so hours to get below the alpine zone.

Mt. Washington to the south recorded 231mph wind some 70 years back!

That Bloomberg article noted 30 people had already been killed there......That's who i was thinking of, also.

I am mostly an alpine climber, will do rock in the off season, Red Rocks outside of Las Vegas is only a 5 hour drive. The Sierra's in California are about 5 hours away as well...

Hiker, climber and general adventure enthusiast myself as well. Get that RV and go. It costs less to live on the road than regular life... that is if you are creative and can think outside the box.

Oddly enough, lately I got more involved in physically difficult climbing like bouldering. Must be the fact that anything alpine is a serious trek from the NYC while there is pretty awesome bouldering an hour or so north of the city.
