Dozens of Staffers Laid Off at Glenn Beck’s The Blaze

Twenty percent of the staff was dismissed.

Glenn Beck’s political network, TheBlaze, continues to struggle, leading to the dismissal of 20 percent of the combined workforce of TheBlaze and parent company Mercury Radio Arts, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Though more people seem to be interested in political news, TheBlaze is though to be losing both free readers and digital subscribers, The Hollywood Reporter writes. A source tells The Hollywood Reporter that the dismissal affects around 50 employees.

“We are losing a lot of talented and committed colleagues, who are some of the best human beings I know — some have been friends of mine for 30 years,” Beck wrote in his note announcing the dismissals, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s a difficult day for some exceptional people that mean a lot to me personally, my family, and the entire company.”

TheBlaze used to generate between $20 million to $30 million in annual revenue. It also has a linear TV channel.

There are many media channels laying off people as business flows and ebbs. Al Gore's Current TV network laid off the majority of its staff over multiple layoffs in 2008, 2009, and 2010. It was acquired by Al Jazeera in 2013 who shut is down in 2017.

Glenn Beck is a liberal pretending to be a conservative because he thinks it pays better. I remember when he was just a normal guy, then he put on those glasses and started pretending to be a Christian. His acting skills are so bad and I cringe when he holds up the bible and starts quoting passages from it like he did during Cruz's campaign. You just know he is reading from it saying things he totally doesn't believe.

I think its completely possible he's a liberal shill trying to make the republican party look bad whenever he can without looking too obvious while at the same time trying to keep his paycheck coming in.

He has always been sort of a weird duck in my mind. Took some focus to figure out which trip he was on that day- he must be bipolar or something. You know, years ago he had the tv program and I would try to watch little bits of it here and there while doing other things as you can do with so many programs. But everyday he would draw these massive three dimensional organization charts connecting the head of fema to the Romanov family or something. That's fine I guess. Then I would pass by the TV again and he would be crying about something. Okay again, I guess. Not sure what to do with all that though. Personally, I think he is bipolar. Then he went through a period where he and bill oreilly were tighter than a bull's arse at fly swatting time. Then Beck went off to siberia for a while or something, due to his becoming too close to Rasputin or something and was never seen on oreilley or day tv again. I don't know. It's like a soap opera you either keep up with it or you have no idea what the hell they are up to now or what kind of personal conversion he has gone through since the last personal conversion sixty days ago.

I would probably have to check the lunar cycles to see if beck is a lefty or a liberterian or what these days. Could be a bernie supporter for all I know. You know we just had a solar eclipse so that could cause another personal transmutation and transfiguration within Beck.
