You need to study why Tulip bulbs were different. First of all, they had one rally and then were done. Bitcoin keeps making higher highers. If you also want to consider that tulip bulbs ever had a change at being a store of value, you have to tackle the idea that anyone could grow more bulbs. That's just a start.

I am not betting on my iphone to appreciate in value as a tool of speculation. it's a device that will depreciate. But it was a consideration i had when i invested in the minidisc format (being 17, i was dumb and still did it).

Funny, had the exact same experience with the minidisc. It did shaped my experiences a bit by never diving/investing too soon in ‘new’ tools or hypes, but go for the more established and mainstream ones.

Yea so I don't have an edge and just lose money constantly. Execution is solid, psychology decent, edge is poop.

Looking to just put some cash in longer term spots. VOO will probably get a portion of it but where else should I look? Any book or resource recommendations on liquid allocation? Not really interested in single company investments.

S&P made around 25% last year...did your trading account do better? Legit question if anyone outside of maybe Des and a few others are generating alpha....if my tradong account would have grown 25% last year I'd be pumped.

This brings up (ot) an idea I have been spouting off about now for at least 3 years and apparently some company is acting on and making money.

Smart phones in classrooms. It's stupid, but most schools lack the authority due to parental pressure (for good reason), they want their kids to have a phone with them at all times when at school. Who can blame them. But why not mass produce the most basic of cell-phones that there is... they would cost next to nothing, team up with the major wireless providers to dual-enable the account of the smart phone to the generic flip-phone... and send the kids to school with that. Leave the smart phone and all the bs associated with it at home.

Anyway, glad to see some entrepreneur out there is doing it... and allegedly kicking ass.
