I dont think the election night low was as low as 14,500. Cant be bothered to look it up, but it definitely was not that low.

Thats not to say the market wont go that low before this bear market ends.

Yes it can trade higher just not lower until rth. Last time I remember this happening was Trumps election night and it ended up near flat by open.

Yep. That was the last time. Made a killing that night shorting ES.

Overnight limit for stock index futures (SIFs) is down 5%, may be for other markets as well.

During RTH:
First Intraday limit is down 7%. SIFs get halted for 15 minutes.
Next Limit is down 13%. SIFs get halted for another 15 minutes.
Last limit is 20% down, SIFs don't re open for the rest of the day and people start jumping out of windows
