If not, I do have a semi-serious reply: The future is always scary and uncertain. Getting stuck in generalized doom mongering never helps in getting your bias correct. Better be a permabull than a permabear then, at least you will be making money. (Footnote: Now may well be a good time to short but it's not like OP was specific about the time frame.)
