To be clear, there is no time constraint to get the 100%. Could be one year...could be 5. Currently my position size for stock trades are just under 15% or equity. Will likely scale up to 25%. Most of the time no leverage will be used, though if things start cranking I would likely keep adding positions until 2 / 1 leverage. What leverage are you planning to use to achieve 100%?
Both F and STX have a BE stop. It is a judgement call on the 15 to 20%...depends on how fast the stock is moving. For the STX trade, if QQQ bounces here I will likely make money on the trade. If we continue to sell off I expect to get stopped out.#3 How do you know whether to take the 1/2 off at 15% or 20%? Do you have a sell stop in the market?
Look left on the chart. The big spike in Nov showed lots of supply in that area. (Seagate)
Not at all. Think about it, not wanting to be long a stock does not mean you want be short the stock. Looking at the NUE trade above...I am more inclined to look for another opportunity to go long. Often times a BO fails only to come back and then BO again. For example:Out of curiosity, if it would be a losing strategy to short, then does it not follow that its a losing strategy to initially exit the long?
I know that sometimes when you have no idea what is happening, or the market isn't clear, its best to be flat. But disregarding emotions, does it not make sense that if one is not prepared to short, exiting a long position is just as likely to be a mistake as not shorting?
Is your stop in the market or do you monitor in real time. Both F and STX have a BE stop. It is a judgement call on the 15 to 20%...depends on how fast the stock is moving. It is in the market. I have a day job and can't monitor things all day.Is your stop in the market or do you monitor in real time.
