nah, just try to keep some perspective.

im def not a momo daytrader - i guess it can be interpreted as masochistic.

i bought lotta puts so i wont get crushed too bad if we rally next few days. by friday i'll have a better picture of where the economy is going.

did get killed in srs today tho - i averaged down a bit. bought 3000 shares at the close. its down 10% today :eek:

Nicely done, I took a look at some of ur earlier posts in this thread and u do have some good points even though u are evil.

I think (hope) the market and the economy will improve from here, this is not going to be the new great depression, this WAS the great miscalculation.

TO GIVE YOU GUYS A CLUE.. LOOK AT GRAINS SINCE THEY INCREASED THE MARGIN .. THEY SOLD OFF.. DUE TO SPECULATIVE FUNDS WHO WERE LONG.. AND DIDN'T WANT TO ANTE UP TO STAY LONG.. VALUE SI WHERE TEH MARKET IS RIGHT NOW..LOOK AT THE GRAINS.. OBVIOULSY THEY WERE WAY INFLATED.. ESPECIALLY WHEAT.

Yes, I know hedge funds are known for their leverage, but lets be realistic. Levering 30:1 on agencies is an entirely different game than levering even 4:1 on wheat. Volatilities are totally different. Any hedge fund that tries to attempt 10:1+ leverage on any of the ags won't be in business very long generally (too difficult, too choppy), so while the minority could be affected by margin requirements (with garbage strategies), its precisely that, the minority: not affecting the market.

My point: margin requirements have nothing to do with impacting the commodity move (not until you go 2:1 or 1:1 from the 10:1-20:1 levels we're at now).
 
you must eb right.. they just found an entire country (australia) tha thad a trillion tons of wheat in storage.. no offense, but do yourself a favor and look at the facts and stop readign into everything so deeply.. wheat ahs fallen 2.50 since teh announcement on increased margins... corn is the only grain staying propped up due to an acreage planting report.. oh my friend you may ahve a lot of posts.. but you might need to do less posting .. more trading.. and less deep thinking..

p.s. my explanation is just as valid if not more so than yours... it is a best guess isn't it

whatever.. hedge funds are in the market now.. they bought 500 points ago.. .. mkt has seen a bottom.. the guy who started this post will be saying he ws right in 5 years... or next tiem the market has a crash of 200 pts .. whatever..


Black swan.. how many have you seen?

I would protect my self from a black swan, but i would profit on white swans who are abundant and lay golden eggs
