I make already weekly backups with Acronis for many years. I work with SSD but always have several recent backups on other discs. It is clear that replacing SSD's is not a solution in case of failure of this SSD because than it is already too late. But if my SSD crashes I can restore my latest backup on a new SSD from a backup on other discs.

If you had an SSD clone (say, from yesterday), all you'd need to do is unplug the failed and plug in the clone. Why is that not a solution?
There seems to be confusion:
I always work with SSD's.
Every week I make backups.
So in case of problems I put my backup back on a new SSD.
That's all.
If I would have daily copies it would indeed be a solution, but I am too lazy to do that. Besides it is not necessary because the data that I miss since the last backup is historical data that I can retrieve from external sources.
Wasn't thinking of data alone. Cloning makes a copy of your OS and everything on the drive. If you have only market stuff on your trading rig, you wouldn't need to clone daily... or even often... (if you make backups every week, you could just as easily if not more easily make a clone) just that when you put the clone into service, you'd have to do your windows updates and other program updates, if applicable.
Thats what I'd do aswell, clone backup over major changes and occasionally, data backup frequently, swap to new SSD, copy over new data and back working.
I dont have any clients, which let me boot up my own OS especially to trade from, a few that wouldn't realise ofcourse.
In the article mentioned in the OP, someone commented that he trusts the manufacturer more than Microsoft to know what is best for his SSD. I agree.
I clone nightly to internal harddrive to protect again drive failure and mistakes (I have had both). This is automatic and happens during dinner. I copy the backup to external harddrive weekly, which I keep offline to protect against backup failure and cryptolocker virus. I burn key files to DVD-R monthly and keep offsite (trunk of my car) to protect against the loss of my custom software. Me ... paranoid? Who wants to know??

In the cloud? So that hackers can take all they need? No thanks.
I tried Carbonite some years back and, as I recall, it continuously ran in the background and there was no way to turn it off and just upload data on demand. So I uninstalled it. Is that still the case?
You can right click and stop it for playing games, it only uploads while the PC is idle anyway, I really don't notice it ever working.
Been running for years, never causes an issue, problem is, if I had to hit a button I'd forget.
