Again.....again...mortality is not the issue...the faster contagion rate and hospital utilization reaching capacity IS the issue of we dont slow it down. Also how do you think old and weakened people get it? From others walking around freely and spreading it. Many younger people have not died but occupied a bed and respirator.

Tell seniors that they really need to confine themselves, as this virus has their number. Tell others that if they have contact with seniors, they need to remove that contact - or if they cannot - they need to confine themselves. Tell seniors that - incidentally - they should do this whenever there is a flu outbreak as a matter of common sense.

The rest of the world should go on, as it did with H1N1 when there were 60.5 million infected inside of a year, in the US only. My brother thinks he got this Wuhan virus. He was out of it for 4 days, and said it sucked. Went to the doc, doctor said they couldn't test him but that he would be fine. His wife had only minor symptoms. Both under 40.

Millions of people will find their livelihood destroyed from the economic calamity and they will never recover from it. Suicides will rise, families will face hardship, on the global scale there will be starvation as supply chains are disrupted. I wouldn't be surprised if this leads to war in the very end.

Since Trump supported the decision to social distancing to 10 people or less and closing or restaurants and bars and keeping people in their homes I wonder if those criticizing it will blame him or he will say it was the Dems fault.

I don't fault him for taking that position at all even though it seems severe and there could be strong economic fall out but I am being honest at least. I only fault him for his lackadaisical attitude in the beginning and how he keeps opening his mouth to contradict his experts but I don't fault him for standing behind the governor's who closed down their states.

I would be interested to see how the GOP finds no fault in it though when they complain so much about it. Dems can complain he handled it poorly but they support the lockdowns.

Now we are in a position where we have to weight how many dead senior citizens are worth economic recession. Everyone is going to have their perspectives but we are careening toward disaster right now. We are worse than Italy’s tracking and they are seeing 600+ deaths a day. Multiply that times 6 and increase for infection rate and we are looking at thousands a day.

These measures need to work because inaction is also a bad economic choice.

Right. There is no let the young people get it, let the middle age take precautions and isolate the old strategy that would not end up with a high mortality rate. It’s impossible to stop the spread to the old and vulnerable without getting control on total spread first.
