Canceled my order on MRK, too much risk for me.

Just one fill +17 cents . . . Widened the envelope because it is options expiration and the economic news came out at 9:15 did not factor into futures.
 
8 orders 2 fills both positive(+10, +17). Thought about MRK also but held off.

Don, what happen on the order imbalances. Did things play out as you hoped?

We looked at MRK, had time to cancel, but because the indication was so low, we decided to keep the order in. We had two good chances to get out ( I missed the highest print, but still made 35 cents.

This type of thing is a judgement call. We use the "buy on rumor, sell on news" theory most of the time when it comes to "news items" etc. This is usually a good time to stay in...since it is usually the last "bump up" --- we use examples in class that reflect the expanded opening prices and how they can relate when "upgrades" and all that other nonsense kick in....which usually mean good opportunities.

Well today was great for Opening orders. When the futures move enough from overnight I usually do really well.
4 fills overall averaged about making .80

orders on 11 stocks, 6 fills, which is higher than normal.

4 long, 2 short

5 wins and a scratch. all out by about 9:45 or so.

total of 79 cents after commission.

(did not trade Friday)

13 of last 15 days profitable.
 
Got filled on 7 - made money on 6....

Too many fills, could have done better with BMY - check out the moves right after the opening.....
 
Two fills, two winners, respectively 20 and 9 cents. Not complaining. But some of you probably got EDS this morning and maybe got burnt?
