Example, this morning there was news that TXN was being sued by QCOM. TXN gapped down and immediately turned into a good winner. Just the same, for stocks with news that I get filled on I maintain tighter stops since it is better safe than sorry.
Same with BA on Friday, it had bad news (lost some work from the government to LMT) and gapped down on the open and then went positive right after opening. Its open was the low of the day. But you are right on tighter stops on news stocks-a definite must. Sometimes they start ticking against you in big increments right after the open, which really sucks.
