profitability of the OPG in Q1 2003 is about half the profitability in Q4 2002. Not sure whether this is a seasonal trend or a secular trend....
 
This openning strategy does not work for all the stocks.
Don has specific stocks list for openning.
When you get the list & understand why he choose those stocks, you will get a better chance to survive.

I would say, "if a stategy works (and I'm not convinced this one does), then it works. Not just for "Don's 20-30 stocks" but for the vast majority (assuming reasonable criteria used for inclusion in the group, i.e. minimum stock price, avg. daily volume, etc.). Are there some issues that may seldom seem to work for whatever reason (specialist manipulation?)? Sure. But I don't believe Don has uncovered the holy grail; the exclusive 20-30 stocks which work for the OPG. As I said, not if this strategy REALLY works.

Have you ever traded this strategy? Just curious. Also, i'd add that some strategies will work better for some people than others. Only the entry is mechanical on the OO's...after that, it is up to the trader how he handles it. And yes, it is not doing great right now..it is profitable for me...but not anything major. But so what...it takes up 15mins. of the mkt....which leaves the rest of the day for other trading.

Yes I have played around with this strategy. Too soon for me to come to a conclusion as to whether this works, for me, as you say. However I maintain if it is a viable strategy, statistically speaking, it will work more than just a small hand-picked basket of stocks.
