Don's openings Part 3

"Wow...I can't give details, sorry.....but we have one trader making well over 6 figures this morning on the opening strategy...this beats our old record by about 30,000 or so.....Filled on over a hundred stocks"

wow that guy has nerves of steel.couldnt imagine filling on 100 stocks in a market like this.

I assume you and your Bright traders

enter limit orders at a cetain % below or close to where the futures will open?


or on gap down days do any of you just enter market orders OPG on the NYSE ?

Never market orders....we calcualate based on futures, betas, etc. place envelopes ....

Don,

When you relate the performance of individual BT traders (other than yourself), do you have their permission to publicize such results? While I am not the trader who made over 100K in a morning, I would not like that result (or any other result or mine) put up on a public message board, if I was such a trader. Many traders do not share their results even with other members of their office, let alone the rest of the world. Are we not a "proprietary" trading firm, not a public firm?

I never divulge any single traders name or account or anything like that. This "record" thing kind of took on a life ot its own a while back, and I thought it might help cheer people up a bit. All trader numbers are reported monthly to regulators, no where else. And, in this case, there were several who did the same thing.

I respect your privacy issues.

4 longs, 8 shorts, grossed $3.05. Similar results yesterday. The action in the first few minutes wasn't too wild, so I found it a lot easier to manage things.
