Don's Opening's Journal....

Don, Edge....how did you do today? According to my calculations it should have been a great day for both of you. I would like to compare results:

PG long LOSER
GE short BIG WINNER
C short (depends on exit)
AOL short WINNER
HON short WINNER
IBM short (depends on exit)
UTX short WINNER
HDI short LOSER
MRK long BIG WINNER
PFE short BIG WINNER
LLY long (depends on exit)
ABT long WINNER
IGT long WINNER

No I used custom envelopes like I described in an earlier post. It's possible that I made errors...that's why I wanted to compare.

Dustin- How much wiggle room are you giving? On the MRK trade, I probably would have been stopped out. Short from 58.65, high after the open at 59.28. I tallied it as a small loss, not wanting to be short after the range of the first 15 minutes was taken out to the upside.

Been thinking maybe a 1% stop, which in this case would be 60 cents- but that would have gotten you right at the high.

Hmm...the MRK was a LONG trade from the open print at 58.17. It went vertical almost immediately.

To Edge and others....Due to decreased volatilty we have been reducing the envelope size somewhat...now that we see an increase in opening volatility (based on % up or down), I have expanded back a bit. .85 buy, 1.00 sell this morning...we'll see how we do....

Does anyone know where I could find historical S&P FV data? I am trying to backtest various stocks for opening orders and am having no luck finding historical FV.

Thanks
