Don's openings and more for 2005

I just started a new thread to discuss the issue about Bright and within two minutes, the whole thread disappears.

For Pete's sake Don, this isn't your own private message board. Some guy gets screwed and you try to hide it by deleting any evidence of it.

EDIT---I just found out the thread was moved to the "Feedback" section. Probably better that way....because most people never look there. :mad:
 
He is a con artist, who is spinning badly here. What the hell does a series 7 have to do with you matching his 5k deposit and giving him boot camp for free!

You and your brother pulled a bait and switch here. What's worse, you came to him after he had spent his time and money and started going to the class and collected money from him. Ellito spitzer ought to investigate BRIGHT!

I think you are generally a good guy and I think Bright is one of the better prop firms in the industry. That said, I have to say that this STINKS.

I don't know by whom, or why, that guy's posts was deleted, but I think it needs to be put back in place by the moderators. It was 100% on topic, and was the result of the person's personal experience (not second hand). The only thing suspicious about the post was that it was the first ET post using that alias (raises a small red flag, I admit).

However, there was nothing in your reply to him to suggest that he was lying about his experience with Bright. Instead, you pointed out that you replied to his post, but when you go to that thread, we can see that his original post and your 'reply' have both been deleted and the thread is now closed.

Again, this stinks! IF they guy was telling the truth, then it sounds like he has a 100% reasonable complaint, and deserves an answer. Furthermore, to have a thread 'closed' retroactively due to an undesired, but honest post from someone with first hand experience seems to be unprecedented.

I would like to have an explanation on why the post was deleted.

I am a long time member of ET with no axe to grind on this issue. Also, if the guy was lying about this experience (and I know that this DOES happen as prop firms beat up on one another), then I would fully support you, Don. However, to have his post deleted like this without explanation, apparently simply due to pointing out his honest but dissatisfied experience with an ET sponsor's firm lessens the value of ET for all of us.

Still, I think the guy should attempt to deal with it privately with Don and allow him a chance to solve the problem before posting it on a public forum. That's pretty unprofessional. If he got the runaround, then fine, go ahead and post.

I totally agree with you. If this was his first attempt to resolve the issue, then it was a poor first step. Possibly the original poster to point out to us whether he had already attempted to work this out with the Brights in private.

I have been following ET since 2000 but this is my first post regarding my experience. One of my inspirations to trading stocks was reading Hitman's trading journal.

I turned profitable in 2004 averaging 3k a month for the last 7 months of 2004 in my retail account.

I decided to join Bright because Don had that great deal on ET and his consistent profits in his OO thread.

I will be swing trading end of day now while I work a 2nd job to help recover from this drawdown.

I agree that I should have talked with Don alone before posting this. I don't know if I would be taken seriously if I did though. I just emailed him with the information and I will let you guys know the results if you guys want.

It doesn't take much to stir up the "non-silent" minority around here. As I said, let me review all the facts, and we'll chat personally. Both Bob and I work really hard to see that whatever "deal" is worked out, works well for everyone involved. Heck, I have 23 college students trading for free here for the next 2 weeks, LOL.
