Here are the Basics:
20 mins before close, you'll see the first imbalance.
If the imbalance is > X% of the avg. daily volume,
then you have a possible imbalance play.
10 mins before close, if you see the imbalance still up/down,
buy or short in direction of imbalance and use a MOC
against the imbalance to exit the position.
take into consideration the chart if the stock already moved
in direction of imbalance before the imbalance reducing
its effectiveness.
the specialist may print the stock many cents above or
below the last tick for the closing print on big imbalances.
note: imbalances plays are much more rare now because
institutions are better at buying or selling ahead of time
instead of waiting till the last day to fill their orders.
