If you ask me “do black lives matter”? My answer would be, “of course, yes.” But then I’d add “but all lives matter, black, brown, yellow, white....the color of one’s skin isn’t part of the equation.
The problem in today’s socially driven narrative, the first question demands a stand alone affirmation and tribute, to deny or neutrality on the subject is punishable. The second, acknowledging the fact that “all” lives matter equally, is deemed racist.
BLM and it’s unwavering demand that everyone Kowtow to the Black Lives Matter mantra has become a form of Corporate and Public extortion. The vast majority of people would agree there’s still room for improvement and sympathize for those true victims of racism but the vast majority of people are innocent of the problems the BLM movement represents but are told they are the cause and are targeted by BLM followers.
Radical Government changes throughout history have usually been accomplished via violence, think revolutions, Bolshevik, Chinese Liberation, French et al. Radical social changes are better accomplished via non-violent means, think Gandhi. MLK was an advocate of non-violent social resistance.
While the BLM movement may maintain it’s verbal “social justice” narrative, it’s actions have been hijacked by the alt-left and are anti-American, violent, divisive, intolerant, vengeful and racist. In essence the BLM has become the very thing it despises.
Being forced to affirm such is the problem, BLM would be better by winning the hearts, not burning it’s cities.
Time to heal this country.
