- Deutsche Bank and Signature Bank will cut ties with President Donald Trump in the wake of his supporters storming the Capitol,Bloombergreported Monday.
- "We believe the appropriate action would be the resignation of the president of the United States, which is in the best interests of our nation and the American people," Signature said in a statement, citing the Bloomberg report.

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump’s job approval rating has plummeted, tying the lowest point of his presidency, following last week’s mob attack on the U.S. Capitol.
In a new Quinnipiac University poll released Monday, 33% of American voters said they approve how Trump is handling his job, a dramatic drop of 11 percentage points since December when 44% said they approved of his job performance. Sixty percent of voters disapprove of his job performance.
It's the lowest mark for Trump since Aug. 2, 2017, when it was also at 33%. That drop came after the Senate rejected Trump's attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act and Anthony Scaramucci was removed as White House communications director just 10 days into the job.
Among Democrats, 94% disapprove of Trump’s job performance and 4% approve. Seventy-one percent of Republican voters approve of Trump’s job performance, while 20% disapprove. Independent voters, by a margin of 65% to 28%, disapprove of his job performance.
The poll found 56% of voters hold Trump responsible for storming the Capitol, while 42% said they do not hold him responsible.
A slight majority of voters, 52%, said Trump should be removed from office, while 45% of respondents said he should not. A slightly higher percentage, 53% to 43%, said he should resign as president.
"A majority of Americans hold President Trump responsible for the chaos at the Capitol, and a slight majority believe that he should be removed from office," said Tim Malloy, a Quinnipiac University polling analyst.

Few events during Donald Trump’s presidency have drastically moved public perceptions about his job performance. But last week’s riots on Capitol Hill — incited by Trump’s attacks on the democratic process — have led to significant decline in sentiment about the outgoing leader as more voters join calls from lawmakers for his impeachment.
According to Morning Consult Political Intelligence tracking conducted Jan. 8-10, 37 percent of voters approve of Trump’s job performance, down 5 percentage points since polling conducted Jan. 3-5 before the Jan. 6 acts of insurrection prompted by Congress’ meeting to count the Electoral College votes and seal the deal on President-elect Joe Biden’s victory. The share who disapproved of Trump increased 5 points, to 60 percent, over the same time period.

On Monday, Manchin told Fox News anchor Bret Baier that the Democrats push to impeach Trump again is "ill advised" and that the Senate will simply not have the votes to convict him. Furthermore, Manchin suggested it wouldn't make sense to move forward with impeachment since Joe Biden will be sworn into office in less than two weeks.
“I don't see any of that because there will still be 48 Democrats, until we seat Warnock and Sen. Ossoff,” Manchin said.
“So, until that happens, you need 67 votes. I think, my arithmetic, that means we have 19 Republicans. I don't see that,” he added. “And I think the House should know that also. We have been trying to send that message over. They know the votes aren't there.”
“I think this is so ill-advised for Joe Biden to be coming in, trying to heal the country, trying to be the president of all the people, when we're going to be so divided and fighting again,” Manchin continued. “Let the judicial system do its job … We're a country of the rule of law. That's the bedrock of who we are. Let that take its place. Let the investigations go on. Let the evidence come forth, and then we will go forward from there.”
