If the Senate does not convict then the President has not been impeached. That is what the Constitution says anyway.

As I said, impeachment requires conviction in the Senate. Anything short of that is "attempted impeachment" meaning its all "a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying NOTHING".
You've got zip, zero, nada. You've advanced the President's stature among the people and diminished the House considerably. Maybe you folks can crawl back to the House and start another impeachment effort assuming the people will tolerate it.
